Neno farmers urged to build networks
Neno District Council director of agricultural services Upe Museko has urged farmers, traders and agro-dealers in the district to strengthen market linkages to enhance agribusiness growth and build resilience against climate change effects.
He said this on Friday during a business-to-business (B2B) expo at Dzundu Primary School that Link Community Development Malawi in partnership with Neno District Council organised under the Climate Just Communities Project.
“Through this meeting, we hope that farmers and other stakeholders will establish partnerships that promote agricultural growth and improve local economies,” said Museko.

Link Community Development Malawi project officer Samuel Phiri said the expo attracted over 50 participants involved in beekeeping, goat rearing and crop production alongside market players,
including suppliers, buyers, service providers, technical experts and financial institutions.
“The B2B platform is meant to strengthen market linkages and give smallholder farmers access to markets, services and technical support,” he said.
Neno district trade officer Chancy Gondwe said the platform enabled farmers and traders to showcase products, share experiences and explore ways of improving value addition.
The B2B expo was financially supported by the Scottish Government through the Climate Just Communities Project.
The expo was held under the theme ‘Linking local communities to markets to achieve climate justice’.
